School Garden Innovation Team

The School Garden Innovation Team’s purpose is to provide students with opportunities to connect with their environment, understand where food comes from, and feel empowered about food production.

We are prototyping two different types of school gardens this year: raised bed soils gardens and hydroponic gardens. We are using the design model of thinking to accomplish our goals; we have divided this prototyping year into three phases: Phase 1- Designing, Phase 2- Prototyping, Phase 3- Recommendations/Reflections. December marks the end of Phase 1- Designing. Our team has worked diligently the past few months to turn a school vision into a tangible learning environment.
